If you’re looking for a Personal Trainer who has been there, done it and got the t-shirt, then you have certainly come to the right place.
I’m Rob Houghton - an ex Army Personal Trainer / Nutritional Advisor who is dedicated to excellence and innovations in cardio conditioning, functional strength and fat loss training.
People often ask me “How did you get into Personal Training?”. To me it was always natural choice to make, having spent most of my teenage years sweating it out in a boxing gym looking to get as fit as I could ready for my enlistment into the Armed Forces, where I served for 4 ½ years.
Within 6 months of leaving the Forces I had put on 3-4 stone in weight (from 9st to 12-13st) due to inactivity and a massive appetite, and could hardly recognize myself any more. Even a trip to the shops was a struggle. It felt like a 6 mile speed march carrying 60lb on my back! Something had to change especially now I couldn’t find a shirt my size that fitted me around the gut anymore. It was either pack in the booze, eat healthily and hit the gym or start clothes shopping at my local tent shop. As they say… the rest is history! I’m now a lean 10st with a waist size of 28 inches.
Many trainers nowadays often complicate the already confusing and complex world of physical fitness leaving people scratching their heads and putting off exercise altogether. This is something I’ll never do. My system emphasizes low-tech/high-effect training methods. You do not need fancy equipment or a luxury gym to achieve the body of your dreams!
My training philosophy emphasizes all-round physical development, whether you’re a complete novice or an experienced athlete, I can help you achieve your health and fitness goals. If you are willing to put in the work, I’ll motivate you, challenge you, and most importantly assist you. My system integrates intensity with intelligent program design. This combination undoubtedly produces a synergistic effect which will lead to enhanced physical development, ultimately giving you the confidence to go on and enjoy the rest of your life.
