Moxa is a slow burning aromatic herb from the dried leaves of the common mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris). Small cones of Moxa can be placed directly on the skin on particular acu-points to smoulder (they are removed long before they cause any discomfort or pain).

Moxa gently heats and stimulates the Qi and helps stimulation when Qi is thought to be weak. It can be a very pleasant and relaxing experience.

You may be given a moxa stick to use at home in between treatments.
