Attending a Mindflow Solutions programme will introduce you to a variety of mindfulness-based strategies and skills which will equip you with the ‘tools’ to cope effectively with stress and difficulty in your life. Mindfulness programmes have also shown to improve general wellbeing, self esteem and happiness.
The central skill that you will learn is Mindfulness – the ability to be fully present in each moment, paying attention to inner and outer experience without judging it, from one moment to the next.
Mindflow solutions programmes are based on the well proven and thoroughly researched Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) programmes. MBCT has been approved by NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) in the UK.
about Geraldine
I have been practicing mindfulness for over 14 years and have developed Mindflow Solutions from direct experience of working with people to reduce stress, anxiety and difficulties and to improve performance, motivation and overall health & wellbeing.
I am currently in the process of completing a Masters Degree in Mindfulness Based Approaches at the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice at Bangor University, North Wales. The Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice is the UK’s leading organisation for excellence in teaching and research of mindfulness. It has outlined a “Good Practice Guideline” for teachers of mindfulness which I adhere to.
I have also under taken a one year teaching training programme with Rob Nairn who is an internationally sought lecturer and author on mindfulness.
As a teacher of Mindfulness it is fundamentally important to have a long-standing and solid daily personal mindfulness practice and to be continuously engaged and committed in developing it further – as this is the bedrock from which to teach.
Therefore I am also currently undertaking a three year in-depth personal meditation practice under the instruction of Yongey Mingyur Rinopche, a High Master in Mindfulness meditation.
In 2002 Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche was one of eight long-term Buddhist meditation practitioners participating in a study carried out at the Waisman Laboratory for Brain Imaging and Behaviour at the University of Wisconsin conducted by Antoine Lutz, Ph.D., a neuroscientist trained by Francisco Varela, and Richard Davidson, Ph.D., a world-renowned neuroscientist and a member of the Board of Scientific Counsellors of the National Institute of Mental Health.
I am also a British Wheel of Yoga Teacher specialising in Mindfulness Yoga and Conscious Relaxation and I am also a qualified Teaching Practice Observer for the British Wheel of Yoga.
I teach Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction programmes (MBSR), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy programmes (MBCT), Mindfulness Yoga and Conscious Relaxation, for corporate clients, NHS & private health, health & wellbeing centres, private groups and individuals.
